The four-hour, on-demand course blends professional expertise with real-life strategies to explain how sensory systems influence self-regulation across the lifespan—from early childhood through aging. Participants gain tools to support children, adolescents, and adults in reaching their full potential in education, work, and daily life.
Accredited Training for Professionals and Accessible for AllThe course is accredited by the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec (OEQ) and the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT). Applications for recognition are also underway with the Ordre des psychologues du Québec, speech-language pathology orders, and social work associations. This ensures healthcare professionals can confidently integrate the training into their practice while also making it accessible to teachers, caregivers, and parents.
Meeting a Growing Need“Self-regulation is not just a challenge for individuals with disabilities or diagnoses—it’s a fundamental human need,” explains Miller-Lautman. “Whether you’re a teacher managing a busy classroom, a parent supporting a child with big emotions, or a therapist helping clients through trauma or dementia, sensory awareness is key. This course gives people the language and tools to see behavior differently and respond more effectively.”
The course addresses a wide spectrum of needs including autism, ADHD, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), trauma, mental health conditions, and neurodegenerative disorders. Beyond diagnoses, it emphasizes that everyone benefits from sensory regulation strategies.
